About Sierra

30 years in the trade. One shop. One zip code.

Sierra Mechanical Corporation has been Rancho Cordova-based since day one. Same building, same trade, same focus on commercial GCs who need their mechanical sub to act like part of the project team - not a vendor.

A working shop, not a sales office.

Sierra started in 1996 with two service trucks, a small office on Mather Field Road, and a stubborn belief that commercial mechanical work belongs in the hands of people who understand what's behind the ceiling. Three decades later, that hasn't changed.

Today we run a 4,800 sq ft fabrication facility, a fleet of service and install trucks, and a roster of project managers who came up through the field. We hold C-20 (HVAC) and C-43 (sheet metal) licenses and are fully bonded and insured.

We're not the cheapest sub on your bid sheet. We're the one whose number doesn't move after award.

Building California's commercial mechanical platform.

01
Self-perform, top to bottom.
Every install performed by our own crews. Every fitting fabricated in our Rancho Cordova shop. Modern estimating, fast bid turnaround, and a PM system that integrates with your GC's software.
02
From one vertical to four.
QSR and restaurant work built this company. We're extending the same discipline into healthcare and medical-office TI, light industrial and food & beverage, and public-works mechanical - markets where in-house fabrication and self-performance win.
03
A recurring service base.
Beyond project work, we're growing a preventive-maintenance and service-agreement base - keeping the systems we install running, and giving operators one accountable mechanical partner for the life of the building.
04
Deliberate, not overextended.
We grow where we can self-perform to standard. Rancho Cordova stays our headquarters and fabrication center. Expansion follows capability - not the other way around.

Three decades of honest mechanical work.

In 1996, our founder rented a 1,200 sq ft bay off Mather Field Road, parked two trucks out front, and put up a sign that said "Sierra Mechanical." The first eight customers were small office buildings around Rancho Cordova who needed someone reliable to keep their rooftop units running through Sacramento summers.

The shop got bigger. The crew grew. The work got more complex - first kitchen ventilation in 2003, then sheet metal fabrication in 2008 when we bought our first plasma table. By 2015, Sierra was doing mechanical scope on multi-store QSR rollouts for some of the biggest brands in California: Burger King, Wendy's, Habit, Dutch Bros. By 2020, we were doing it statewide.

We kept one rule the whole time: self-perform the work. No subbing out the fabrication. No farming out the installs to crews we don't know. The same names that show up to your jobsite are on our payroll, were trained in our shop, and have done this work for the same company for years. That's the standard. We've never broken it.

Started as a two-truck HVAC service shop in Rancho Cordova. Eight commercial accounts, one C-20 license.
2008

2017
C-43 + CNC line
Added C-43 sheet metal license. CNC plasma + coil line. Capacity tripled.

Three rules. No exceptions.

If you've worked with mechanical subs who treat your schedule as a suggestion, this is for you.

Rule 01

Show up on time, every time.

Field crews on the jobsite at 6:30am. PMs respond in 4 business hours. Bids in 5 days. We treat your schedule like ours.

Rule 02

Fabricate, don't farm out.

If we sub it, we don't control it. Our shop runs the work. That's how we hold lead time and quality.

Rule 03

Tell the truth, even when it's hard.

If a date won't hold, you hear it on day one - not week six. If a detail won't install, we redline it before fab, not after.
